West Bank: Israeli army kills four Palestinians

JENIN, West Bank (Reuters) – Israeli security forces shot at least two gunmen and four Palestinians, including a teenage boy, during an operation in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin on Thursday, emergency services and police said. Palestinian activist.

Jenin is one of the West Bank areas where Israeli security forces have stepped up operations over the past year amid rising tensions over the Palestinian state question.
A local group of fighters, the Jenin Brigade, said in a statement that it had come to grips with Israeli soldiers posing as Palestinians who “carried out the cowardly killing of resistance fighters”.
Hamas said one of its fighters was killed during the operation.
