Syria: Israeli missile strike kills two soldiers – Syrian media
DAMASCUS (Reuters) – Israeli missiles killed two Syrian soldiers and “damaged material” near the capital Damascus, the SANA news agency reported on Wednesday, citing military sources.
The military source said, “At approximately 00:25, the Israeli enemy launched an air strike with missile strikes in the direction of the occupied Golan Heights, targeting positions around Damascus.”
The official Syrian press, citing a military source, reported on Wednesday that Syrian air defense systems intercepted missiles fired by Israel toward Damascus and “shot down most of them”.
On its part, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (OSDH) indicated that three people were killed, a Syrian soldier and two members of a pro-Iranian militia.
The Israeli army did not comment.
Israel has been carrying out regular attacks on Iranian-linked targets in Syria for years.
