Death of former Azzurro striker Gianluca Vialli

MILAN (Reuters) – Italian footballer Gianluca Vialli, a former star striker for Sampdoria Genoa in the 1980s, has died aged 58 from cancer, the Ansa news agency reported on Friday. Vialli, who also played for Juventus in Turin before ending his playing career at Chelsea in the second half of the 1990s, had been capped 59 times with the Italy team. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2017.
