UEFA reacted to the UAF’s request to exclude the RFU from the participation of Crimean clubs in the Russian championship
The Football Federation of Ukraine (UAF) continues to put pressure on the UEFA management due to the situation with the participation of Crimean clubs in the Russian championship.
In Ukraine, they believe that the RFU has violated UEFA statutes and FIFA has called for the Russian organization to be expelled. Recall that before the start of the 2023/24 season Sevastopol and Rubin Yalta were admitted to the Second League.
“We are now assessing the situation, especially in light of the 2014 decision to ban Crimean clubs from participating in competitions under the auspices of the RFU and to create a ‘special zone’ in Crimea until further notice.
We are in contact with the RFU and the Football Federation of Ukraine” the UEFA press service said.
