The day after Inter qualified for the Champions League final, Real Madrid went away to Manchester City on Wednesday 17 May, in their second European semi-final. A week after conceding a 1-1 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu, Madrid’s Karim Benzema-led side must win if they are to defend their title on 10 June in Istanbul.

In good shape before this return match, the Cityzens want to take revenge against their executioner last year, at the same stage as the semi-finals. Silent in the first leg, Erling Haaland hopes to offer Mancunian fans a second final after the one they lost against Chelsea in 2021, with the hope of winning the first Champions League in the club’s history.
