A first “full-scale” test took place in Paris on Monday July 17, one year before the Olympic Games. About forty boats went down the Seine in the morning.

When the Vedettes enter the Seine, it is early in the morning that they put on their show in the capital. A first test for the 2024 Olympics opening ceremony took place on Monday July 17 in Paris. A ballet of about forty boats practiced convoy maneuvers. “It’s amazing, I’m so glad I came here”exclaims a tourist.

A first in the history of the Games

For the first time in the history of the Olympic Games, the opening will take place outside a stadium, with the Seine as a playing field: a six-kilometre route in the heart of Paris, 10,500 mobilized athletes and almost 500,000 spectators expected. For the organizers the challenge is logistical and technical. “Everything will be done to ensure that the artistic is at the service of these technical tests”assures Tony Estanguet, president of the organizing committee of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
