FSBR President Mikhail Mamiashvili reacted to United World Wrestling’s decision to deprive Poland of the World Youth Championship.

Earlier it became known that the competition was moved to Jordan, as the country’s Ministry of Internal Affairs refused to issue visas to Russian and Belarusian athletes.

“The united world of wrestling, defending the interests of athletes, moved the youth world championship from Poland to Jordan due to the fact that the host country was unable to ensure contractual obligations for visa support for the competition, but this does not mean that now Poland should be deprived of the opportunity to hold matches for a hundred years. Polish athletes are not our enemies, but this is the political trend today, ”said Mamiashvili to TASS.

Earlier, the Polish Ministry of Internal Affairs did not allow Russian tennis player Vera Zvonareva to enter the country to participate in the WTA tournament.
