Ja Morant suspended again by the Memphis Grizzlies for a new gun video
The American had already been suspended by the NBA in March for exposing himself on social media with a weapon.
Ja Morant does it again. The Memphis Grizzlies suspended their star until further notice Sunday, May 14, a day after a video on social media showed him holding a gun, two months after the similar incident that earned him an NBA-sanctioned suspension.
“We are aware of the video, circulating on social media, involving Ja Morant. He is suspended from all team activities pending the League’s review of the situation.” North America (NBA), said the Memphis franchise.
This new video, which circulated on Instagram Live, has since been deleted. It shows Morant in the front passenger seat of a car and holding what looks very much like a gun, with no indication of when it happened.

He recalls the one a little over two months ago, albeit under slightly different circumstances, in which a drunk Morant brandished a gun in a Glendale nightclub near Denver (Colorado) after a game his team lost against the Nuggets.
If the local police, after the investigation, had not reported him, unable to find the gun and after having ascertained that no one had suffered threats, the talented 23-year-old full-back had been suspended for eight games “for harmful conduct”, from the NBA. League boss Adam Silver called Morant’s conduct “irresponsible, reckless and potentially very dangerous”.
In the process, the star had joined a psychological support program in Florida for a few days. She then she promised to be “more responsible, smarter and stay away from all the bad decisions”, in an interview with ESPN following the announcement of his suspension. Other cases taint Morant’s career. He was notably accused of giving “12 to 13 Fists” to a 17-year-old at his home in July 2022. His agent at the time said he had acted in self-defense.
