IOC cancels London 2024 Olympic qualifiers due to pressure on Russian athletes

The International Olympic Committee has refused London to host qualifying tournaments for the 2024 Olympics.

According to The Times, this decision was made due to pressure on Russian and Belarusian athletes: they had to sign a kind of “declaration of neutrality”, and only under such conditions would the British guarantee their participation in the competition.

Upon learning of London’s position, the IOC immediately imposed sanctions, considering it discrimination.

Recall that the UK was supposed to host competitions in skateboarding, rock climbing, cycling and break dancing.
