In Haute-Savoie, all schuss in music with the “Rock en pistes” festival
The “Rock The Pistes” festival returns to the Portes du Soleil resorts for an eleventh edition which offers skiers the opportunity to combine skiing with music. On the program until March 18: more than 35 concerts by emerging or confirmed artists, such as the Avignon singer Suzane.

For her very first high-altitude concert, Suzane warms things up. It must be said that we are in the town of Les Gets in Haute-Savoie, perched at 1500 m. The artist with a sparkling style and committed successes wanted to experience the high edition performance a Rock The Tracks. A festival located throughout the Portes du Soleil area and offering holidaymakers the opportunity to attend concerts after (or during) a ski session. “I had never played in the mountains, in front of people who are on vacation, indeed there are French, English. It was a real challenge to be able to bring them into my world”says the artist.

“I loved the moment I started making them dance in the big shoes, I found it quite amazing”Suzanne adds. Moon Boots, protective helmets and overalls: this is in fact the dress code for the concerts organized by the festival which, for a few days, transforms the ski slopes into dance floors. Pioneer of high-altitude festivals, Rock the Pistes has won over artists such as Eagle-Eye Cherry, La P’tite Fumée and Étienne de Crecy.
A familiar and festive atmosphere
In the midst of this colorful wave, tourists from all over Europe who appreciate this osmosis, halfway between a festival atmosphere and a mountain. The more adventurous are even ready to give up the wetsuit for an ice bath. “It’s great, everyone was dancing, Suzane really gets the crowd going”says a festival-goer.
“Great, we saw Martin Solveig yesterday, Suzane today, the kids are happy”, adds a mother. After the Les Gets area, Rock The Pistes continues to Châtel, then to Avoriaz before a finale on Saturday 18 March in the Swiss resort of Morgins.
