Jonas Vingegaard glossed over the stage 16 time trial of the Tour de France on Tuesday, relegating Tadej Pogacar to one minute and forty-eight seconds overall.

A show of strength, pure and simple. In the only time trial of the 2023 Tour de France, Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) disgusted Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates), on Tuesday 18 July, between Passy and Combloux (Haute-Savoie), adding 1’38” to his ten second lead in the general classification. “Had a great day on the bike”exulted the yellow jersey, to the France 2 microphone, upon his arrival.

So incredible that it has come to amaze. “We wanted to start strong by keeping the pedal a little under the middle sectionsaid the Dane. But in the end, I was sending very high watts, I thought my measuring instrument was faulty.”

Despite this glittering victory, no question of ignition for the Jumbo-Visma leader. “Very difficult days still await us, the Tour de France is not over.he tempered. I will do everything possible to keep this beautiful yellow jersey until Paris.” Tadej Pogacar is booked.
