French gastronomy on the Paris 2024 Games menu
Five great chefs have been called by the Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Among these cooks of excellence, the Parisian Amandine Chaignot.
We saw last week that the Sodexo company will take care of the meals served every day to the athletes of the Paris 2024 Games next year. Five great French chefs were called to compose the recipes, with the aim of making the French gastronomy. Théo Curin, vice world champion in para-swimming, is in the company of one of them, the chef Amandine Chaignot.
All year round, Amandine runs her two Parisian restaurants: the Café de Luce, in Montmartre, and Pouliche, in the 10th arrondissement. But for next year, a challenge awaits the young woman, as she will prepare – in the company of four other great chefs, including the three-star and former top-level basketball player, Alexandre Mazzia – the meals of the athletes at the Paris 2024 Games.
Recipes that can be duplicated for a very large number of athletes
“I am very happy and very proudadmits the chef, it’s exciting, but it’s also a huge challenge, because it’s going to be huge logistics. It will be very beautiful. I will highlight my values and work bases, but the recipes will have to be duplicated for a very large number of cutlery. Problems of scale will inevitably lead to adjustments.”
We remind you that 40,000 meals will be served every day, only to athletes. “It will therefore be necessary to anticipate the preparationsspecifies Amandine Chaignot, avoid too many manipulations. For example, there will be a lot of pre-cooking, and a major upstream set-up, to be able to sell fast enough for all athletes. The young woman will mainly take care of the catering after the races, with the idea of the pleasure of being there, in Paris, and enjoying French cuisine.
