A sport born in the United States at the end of the 19th century, volleyball, a mix of tennis and basketball, established itself on the beach at the beginning of the 20th century. It was in 1916 in Hawaii that a net was planted on a beach for the first time. “Made in USA” beach volleyball was born.

Despite everything, it was the Brazilians who won the first Olympic title in this sport, in 1996 in Atlanta, USA. Beach volleyball, “vollei de praia” in Brazilian, has since become a real phenomenon in Brazil.
