Box office: “November” exceeds one million admissions

(AFP) – The film “November” with Jean Dujardin on the investigation after the 2015 attacks in Paris and Saint-Denis has exceeded one million admissions since its release, according to figures compiled on Wednesday by CBO Box Office.

After a whirlwind start, this new film by Cédric Jimenez still attracts 430,000 spectators for its second week in theaters, and can hope to eventually exceed the 2.2 million admissions of “Bac Nord” last year.

The week, dominated by French cinema in the absence of American blockbusters, was also marked by the success of the biopic “Simone – Le voyage du siècle”, on Simone Veil, with Elsa Zylberstein, which garnered 486,000 tickets sold.

The mainstream comedy “Jack Mimoun and the secrets of Val Verde” with Malik Bentalha, Joséphine Japy, François Damiens and Jérôme Commandeur also slipped into the top 3, ahead of “L’innocent” by and with Louis Garrel (192,000 admissions) , a detective comedy starring Roschdy Zem, Noémie Merlant and Anouk Grinberg, which received rave reviews.

Also note, further down the rankings, the still undeniable success of the horror film “Smile” which, in three weeks, terrorized more than 650,000 spectators.

1. “Simone – The journey of the century”: 486,242 entries, 672 copies (new)

2. “November”: 429,138 entries, 661 copies (1,021,819 entries in two weeks)

3. “Jack Mimoun and the secrets of Val Verde”: 257,163 entries, 501 copies (new)
