Wall Street rises amid optimism around the opening of borders in China, rates in the US

Jan 9 (Reuters) – Major U.S. stocks opened in positive territory on Monday, driven by optimism as China’s borders reopen to tourists and signs of a cooling U.S. labor market, raising bets on a slowdown in Fed tightening of monetary policy.

The S&P 500 rose 0.52% at the open, the Dow Jones rose 0.25% and the Nasdaq jumped 0.87%. (Reuters office in Gdansk)
