US oil inventories rose 0.5 million barrels in a week, less than expected – EIA

Jan 25 (Reuters) – US crude inventories rose by 533,000 barrels to 448.55 million barrels in the week ended Jan. 20, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Wednesday.

Gasoline inventories rose 1.8 million barrels to 232.02 million barrels, while distillate stocks fell 0.5 million barrels to 115.27 million barrels.

Analysts had expected oil inventories to rise by 0.971 million barrels and gasoline by 1.767 million barrels, while distillate stocks would decline by 1.121 million barrels. (Reuters office in Gdansk)
