US oil inventories fell three times less than expected during the week

July 19 (Reuters) – U.S. oil inventories fell by 708,000 barrels in the week ending July 14 to 457.42 million barrels, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) said on Wednesday.

Gasoline inventories fell by 1.07 million barrels to 218.39 million barrels, while distillate inventories remained virtually unchanged at 118.19 million barrels.

Analysts expected oil inventories to fall by 2.44 million barrels, gasoline inventories to fall by 1.58 million barrels and distillate inventories to rise by 0.46 million barrels. (Reuter office in Gdansk)
