The Russian government is considering banning gasoline exports to lower prices – sources

MOSCOW, May 23 (Reuters) – The Russian government is considering banning gasoline exports to prevent shortages of the product and an increase in its prices as a result of a halving of muffler subsidies expected from July, industry and ministry sources said.

According to sources, the possibility of raising the mandatory minimum volume of motor gasoline sales on the exchange is also being considered for this purpose.

The Ministry of Energy has not yet received a comment.

The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation proposed to reduce the fuel damper by half from July 2023.
