The Ministry of Internal Affairs placed the actor Alexei Panan, who opposed the war, on the wanted list

Actor Alexei Panin has been placed on the wanted list, according to the database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Earlier, criminal proceedings were instituted against him under the article on justifying terrorism on the Internet (part 2 of art. 205 § 2 of the penal code).

The reason for the criminal case was a post on the Telegram channel, in which the actor said that he could not “hide joy” from the explosion of the Kerch bridge. Panin added to the publication hashtags with anti-war slogans “no war”, “stop Putin”, “Glory to Ukraine”.

The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case against the actor, TASS reported on May 3. If arrested, he faces up to seven years in prison. A search was carried out at the place of registration of Panin. However, the actor does not live in Russia as of 2020.

Panin called himself the favorite actor of Russian President Vladimir Putin. After the annexation of Crimea, he supported the activities of the Russian authorities. In 2015, a criminal case was opened in Ukraine against the actor for an attack on the integrity of the country. Panin then asked Ukrainian citizens for forgiveness and admitted that Russia had unleashed an “unnecessary war.”
