MOSCOW, Jan 19 (Reuters) – The indexation of social benefits by 11.9% from February 1, 2023 will cost the federal budget 152.4 billion rubles, the Finance Ministry said.

Indexation will affect, in particular, the monthly allowance for child care, payments to the disabled, veterans and Chernobyl survivors, monthly insurance payments, and the amount of maternity capital.

Earlier, President Vladimir Putin ordered the government to index the minimum wage above the inflation rate this year, which was 11.9% in 2022. (Moscow bureau)
