The Minister of Defense of Ukraine announced the receipt of HIMARS reaching Russia

In the future, Ukraine will receive HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems from the United States, with a range of 300 km. Confidence in this was expressed by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov in a conversation with the Financial Times.

Initially, the newspaper notes, the US was hesitant to send HIMARS systems with a range of up to 80 km and GPS-guided munitions, fearing that such a move could escalate the war. Now, Reznikov argues, Washington has revised its assessment.

Reznikov called the main obstacle to new supplies fears of the West that Ukrainian officials and the military could plunder and sell weapons supplied by the West abroad. Some European politicians who are “addicted to cheap gas and money” from Russia are spreading false claims about the risk of weapons smuggling from Ukraine, which plays into Moscow’s hands, he said.

According to the Ukrainian minister, Kyiv is ready to ensure the transparency of arms supplies in various ways. He said that some allied countries sent military representatives to Ukraine to monitor the supplies, and suggested that others follow their example.

Ukraine also uses NATO software to track how Western-provided weapons are being used. With it, alliance members can track specific weapons. Kyiv is promising to deploy two more tracking systems that will run in parallel with NATO software.

Reznikov argues that heavy weapons systems such as 155mm howitzers or missile systems supplied by the US cannot be stolen. All major equipment is equipped with GPS trackers. It can also be tracked by Western military satellites.
