The largest manufacturer of computer accessories leaves Russia

The Swiss manufacturer of keyboards, mice, webcams and other computer accessories Logitech decided to leave Russia. The company sent a notification to corporate clients.

Previously, the complete departure of Logitech was reported by the publication CNews. The Russian office of the company will stop working on August 31. All employees of the regional division will be fired.

Logitech froze the supply of goods to Russia in April due to the war with Ukraine. Company – one of the few manufacturers of peripherals that focuses on both the gaming market and the needs of the business.

CNews sources note that, first of all, the company’s departure will hit the quality of video conferencing services. Logitech has been a very important technology partner in this space. “Their cameras are about the same price as their Chinese counterparts, but the quality is much better. They have de facto become the standard in equipping workplaces with peripheral equipment, ”the interlocutor of the publication explained.

Another CNews source believes that a worthy replacement Logitech USB cameras are almost impossible to find. “They have the best video conferencing devices on the market — complete systems for meeting rooms, conference rooms, standalone headsets, webcams,” he says.

Dmitry Sery, deputy director and co-founder of Vinteo, complains that Logitech has “the best peripherals in their segment, they are leaders in product quality, setting technological trends.” There is no talk of import substitution, since there are no manufacturers of peripheral devices in Russia, he says: in this regard, Logitech will be replaced by less reliable goods from China, for example, from Yealink.

At the same time, a CNews interlocutor in a large distributor recalled that Logitech employees were previously transferred to Kazakhstan. He believes that this scheme can be used to continue deliveries through parallel imports.

General Logitech’s revenue 2021 amounted to a record $5.25 billion, up 76% from a year ago. The company came to Russia in 2008. The CEO of Logitek LLC is Polina Anokhina. Paccording to the results of 2021, the company earned 516.2 million rubles, which is 89% higher than the result of 2020, follows from the base “Focus contour“.

Previously On August 29, Ericsson, the oldest manufacturer of telecom equipment, announced its complete withdrawal from Russia. Prior to this, a similar decision was made by the largest server supplier – the American company Dell.
