The head of the German Foreign Ministry said that negotiations with Putin were impossible
Germany will not yet look for opportunities to negotiate with Russian President Vladimir Putin on ending the war in Ukraine. This was stated by German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock in an interview with the media group Axel Springer. Instead, efforts must be continued so that “Ukraine can win this war,” she is quoted by Deutsche Welle.
“I wish we would agree. But right now, it’s not about what we want, it’s about what we need to look at. in the face of reality“, – she said.
The head of the German Foreign Ministry assured that every day of the war her country is doing everything possible to help Ukraine in its fight. “Unfortunately, we can’t do magic – then this war would end,” complained the minister. She stressed the need to focus on areas of assistance where Germany could be most effective.
In particular, Burbock noted that the vast territory of the country was mined, and therefore equipment was needed to overcome the minefields. She called the details of the equipment needed and how to achieve success in this field confidential and demonstrated her willingness to cooperate with Ukraine on this matter.
The representative of Kiev, brother of the mayor of the city and former world boxing champion Wladimir Klitschko, in a joint conversation with Burbock, appealed to Berlin not to weaken support for Ukraine even in the event of a prolonged conflict. He stressed that resilience is crucial in the fight against the Russian invasion and asked German partners to continue to support Ukraine in difficult times.
