Security forces and private security companies were allowed to shoot down any drones

Law enforcement and private security organizations have been given the right to stop the movement of any drones. The law was adopted by the State Duma immediately in the second and third readings.

Among the departments, the document applies to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the FSB, the Russian Guard, the FSO, the SVR, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Federal Prison Service, the GUSP, as well as the State Courier Service. Their employees were allowed to shoot down drones in the air, in the water and on the ground. They can suppress, damage, or destroy such devices or process their remote control signal.

Concerning Private security companies, here employees will receive similar rights, who have undergone professional training to ensure anti-terrorist protection of facilities. The list of employees who will be granted the right to stop the movement of drones will be determined by the head of the security organization.

Prior to the enactment of the law, only those departments and private security companies that passed the selection of the Russian Guard could shoot down drones. Also security forces had the right to confront only flying UAVs.

“Technology is evolving: other types of unmanned vehicles have appeared that operate not only in the air. And it is necessary to react to new threats, ”said Vasily Piskarev, one of the authors of the bill.

According to MP Oleksandr Khinshtein, the document is necessary “to start systematic work on protecting important facilities against sabotage and terrorist attacks” not only in the regions bordering Ukraine, but throughout the country.

The government has said so before private security companies will attract dto protect the facilities of the fuel and energy complex (FEC).

In late February, Ukraine carried out its first major drone attack on Russian territory. The targets were energy and infrastructure facilities. For example, in Krasnodar Krai, two drones filled with explosives fell on the Rosneft landfill. Another drone found near Kolomna – collapsed near the gas compressor station “Gazprom” “Voskresensk”.

In March, the Druzhba oil pipeline was attacked: Ukrainian drones tried to shut down the Novozybkov oil pumping station in the Bryansk region four times. Thereafter, the highway was attacked several more times.

At the end of May, drones raided Moscow and the Moscow region. According to the Ministry of National Defense, eight unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) took part in it – all of them were hit by the air defense forces. The base claimed that at least 25 drones struck the capital and suburbs, three of which hit residential buildings.

The “arrivals” map showed that the targets were the residence of President Vladimir Putin “Novo-Ogaryovo” and the residences of his entourage on Rublevka. Drones also attempted to strike the homes of Foreign Intelligence Service officers, NBC wrote, citing a senior US official and congressional employee familiar with the matter.
