Searches were carried out at the Moscow headquarters of the National Bolsheviks after the action at the Ministry of Defense

Security forces came with a search to the Moscow headquarters of the unregistered national-Bolshevik party “The Other Russia of Eduard Limonov.” This was announced by the leader of the capital’s National Bolsheviks Olga Shalina.

She managed to record a video that was published by the telegram channel of the party. At the moment the security forces arrived, Shalina was alone in the room and eventually opened the door herself.

The party linked the search with a pro-war action near the building of the Russian Ministry of Defense. National Bolsheviks protested against the “Christmas truce” with Ukraine announced by President Vladimir Putin. In particular, they hung a banner with the inscription “Cuckolds” on the fence near the department, highlighting it with flares.

“The decision to cease fire for 36 hours from January 6 to 7 is another mediocre initiative of our authorities. The absurdity of this decision is added by the fact that the Ukrainian side does not plan any truces and continues to strike at Donetsk, ”the commentary to the action says.

After the searches, Shalina was taken to the police station. She was charged with disobedience to an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). The party claims that “D. G. Skvortsov, an officer on duty of the Tver police department, cut off the pectoral cross” from the detainee after she refused to take it off. Shalina “considers this an insult to the feelings of believers and intends to write a statement to the Investigative Committee and the prosecutor’s office.”

Meanwhile, the pro-Kremlin political scientist Sergei Markov commented on the action of the National Bolsheviks. He noted that “cuckolds” are called “husbands who encourage the betrayal of their wives and enjoy it,” and now this term is “used to refer to all those men who behave unmanly.”

According to Markov, the action became one of the manifestations of public dissatisfaction with the “excessive softness of the actions of the Russian army” in Ukraine. As the propagandist explained, “many Russians believe that the political leadership is focused not on winning, but on ‘begging’ peace talks from the West.” He called such sentiments “wrong” and “defeatist”, and also called on the Russian authorities to “respond” to them “with something other than censorship and arrests.”

Previously, Markov called strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure a “humanitarian attack” and said that Russia was sending “rockets of goodness” there, the purpose of which was “to end the war and occupation by NATO countries.”

On Thursday, Putin ordered Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu to cease fire along the entire line of contact for Christmas time: from 12:00 on January 6 to 24:00 on January 7. The Kremlin asked the Ukrainian authorities to do the same, but Kyiv considered such an offer a “trap” and “an element of propaganda.” President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called the initiative a “cover” aimed at stopping the advance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donbass and bringing equipment closer to their positions.
