Russia exported $3.4 billion worth of gas to China via pipeline in the first half of the year – customs data
MOSCOW, July 20 (Reuters) – According to Chinese customs statistics, Russia exported in January-June this year.
In June, China imported gas from Russia for USD 573.5 million, which is 19% more than in May.
The only supplier of pipeline gas to China is Russia’s Gazprom, which exports it via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline.
Last year, China imported $3.98 billion worth of gas through Power of Siberia. Based on pumping volumes of 15.5 billion cubic meters in 2022, the average selling price of gas was approximately $257 per 1,000 cubic meters.
Gazprom’s deliveries to China are planned to amount to 22 billion cubic meters this year, i.e. 42% more than last year, but their increase does not compensate for the decrease in exports to Europe and lower revenues.
