Police detained 40 people during raids on Moscow bars suspected of sponsoring the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Police officers arrived at the Moscow bars La Virgen Taqueria and Underdog – establishments suspected of sponsoring the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reports OVD-Info.

As a result, about 40 people were detained and taken to the police station in the Basmanny district. There, people were interrogated by FSB officers. The lawyers could not see the detainees.

According to eyewitnesses, during the raid, the police were with stun guns and a sledgehammer, and one of the guests was forced to write the letters “Z” and “For Russia” on the door. Also, the repertoire in the bars changed dramatically: the songs of the Shaman, the Lyube group, the compositions “Blue handkerchief” and “Hey, oh, yes, my horse is black” began to play. At the same time, the police forced visitors to sing, threatening to electrocute them, and also demanded that people with tattoos undress, said one of Mediazona’s employees.

According to lawyer Konstantin Eremin, fiscal discs and two terminals were confiscated from the bar. Both Underdog and La Virgen announced on social media that both venues would be closing for the foreseeable future. “We will provide all the details later or you will learn them from your friends,” we read in the publication. The bars were opened by one team of restaurateurs.

In the summer of 2022, La Virgen published a post about the sale of vinyl records, the proceeds of which were to be donated to the charity Kyiv Angels (“Angels of Kiev”). Then the owners of the plants began to receive threats from the Z-patriots. They later reported that La Virgen’s account had been hacked. According to them, the collected funds were donated to help the animal shelter. Underdog also announced a rally in support of the Russian Red Cross and refugees residing in Russia.
