Kremlin says mobilization order still in effect

Nobody canceled the decree of President Vladimir Putin on “partial mobilization” – it continues to operate, despite the termination of the draft, said the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov, Interfax reports.

According to him, in addition to direct recruitment into the army, the document “includes other measures necessary to ensure the fulfillment of the tasks of the armed forces” – in this part, the decree “continues to work.”

Peskov did not give details, but noted that “this also applies to the closed point” associated with the number of mobilized. Earlier sources of Novaya Gazeta. Europe” in the presidential administration claimed that the secret seventh paragraph of the decree allows the Ministry of Defense to draft one million people into the army.

Peskov himself once again assured that the call for mobilization was over as soon as the military department announced the recruitment of the declared 300 thousand military personnel. Earlier, he said that Putin would not issue a decree on the completion of partial mobilization, since such a document was not needed.

Recently, The Times, citing Western intelligence data, wrote that the authorities were preparing to announce a new wave of mobilization, during which up to 500,000 people could be sent to the front.
