Instead of resting abroad, Russians will be offered beaches on the Moscow River
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin has announced a new development and improvement project in the Nagatino area, the largest open beach in Russia. He announced it on the telegram channel.
By the summer of 2023, an open beach with five heated pools will appear on the Nagatinskaya floodplain. – There will be deckchairs, changing rooms and showers by the water. Cafes and restaurants will be open. Water sports enthusiasts will be able to wakeboard, said Sergey Sobyanin.
The construction of an outdoor amusement park will also begin here. “The beach and the amusement park will create a huge recreation area that will be used not only by Muscovites, but also by residents of all Russia,” the mayor assures.
The world’s largest indoor amusement park Dream Island is already operating on the territory of the Nagatinskaya floodplain. A landscape park with a summer cinema and recreational areas near ornamental ponds, children’s and sports fields was created nearby. – The effects of our work have already been appreciated by Muscovites and guests of the capital – believes the mayor.
Another project to renovate the embankments of the Moskva River this year is the improvement of the site and the redevelopment of the Southern River Station building. “At the beginning of the summer sailing, there will be a new comfortable area for recreation,” Sobyanin promised.
Russia’s largest beach in Moscow is being prepared to open due to a decline in outbound tourism related to the war with Ukraine, sanctions and the closure of Europe to the vast majority of Russians. Even Crimea suffers from a lack of tourists: after recent attacks and talks about Ukraine’s plans to restore the region to its former state in 2023. According to him, in 2023 recreation in Crimea has become the most affordable compared to other regions.
