In Crimea, the Tavrida highway was blocked due to an ammunition depot fire

The Crimean authorities blocked the Tavrida federal highway connecting the Crimean bridge with Sevastopol because of a fire at a training ground in the Kirov region. This was announced by the Kremlin-appointed head of the peninsula, Sergei Aksyonov.

The fire broke out in an ammunition depot at a military training ground in the Kirov region of the Crimea, writes Mash. For two hours, explosions could be heard within a radius of 5 kilometers from the fire. The cause of the fire and casualties were not reported.

Aksenov later said that 2,000 residents of four settlements would be evacuated from the vicinity of the Kirov region. According to him, the operational command has been deployed, all specialist services are working on site.

The Kirov district is located in the middle between Kerch and Simferopol. Aksenov’s adviser, Oleg Kryuchkov, stated that the road is blocked from 118 km to 130 km. He suggested that drivers leave the highway in the area of ​​Pervomaisky and Old Crimea to the old Kerch road.

According to him, bus traffic on interregional routes was temporarily redirected to the Belogorsk-Feodosia highway. Rail transport is operating normally.
