economic outlook less gloomy than expected — Georgieva

DAVOS, Jan 20 (Reuters) – IMF chief Kristalina Georgieva said on Friday that the economic outlook is less bleak than expected a couple of months ago.

Speaking at the annual World Economic Forum, Georgieva said China’s economic growth potential has improved and the IMF now projects a 4.4% rise in 2023.

However, she added that she does not see “a dramatic improvement” in the current global growth forecast for 2023, which the IMF expects at 2.7%. The original message in English is available by code (Mark John)
