HThe introduction is of a notification order, “which in no way restricts the right to move, but at the same time disciplines,” Romanov explained.

“This was said in the closed portion of the meeting while discussing the agenda, which is not broadcast including on the internal network. According to the context of how it was said, it can be assumed that the impetus for this initiative was precisely the scandals associated with the trips of deputies abroad during the New Year holidays,” explained State Duma deputy Mikhail Matveev.

Oleg Morozov, chairman of the Duma control committee, previously promised that the measure would be advisory in nature, and would not ban lawmakers at the legislative level.
