Danone explores legal options after taking Russian assets under Moscow’s control – source
PARIS, July 17 (Reuters) – French food giant Danone is studying possible legal action after the Russian government seized control of a local subsidiary of a yogurt maker, a source close to the situation told Reuters on Monday.
According to the source, Danone will write a letter to the Kremlin and is in contact with French authorities discussing the fate of his Russian assets, including the office of French President Emmanuel Macron.
Moscow published a decree on Sunday in which Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the interim management of the Federal Asset Management Agency to transfer the shares of the Danish brewing company Carlsberg in the Russian Baltic and the French dairy company Danone in the “daughter” of the same name.
