Conscripts can go to the front after a month of military service
Conscripts will be able to conclude a contract with the Ministry of National Defense one month after the summons. Such an amendment was adopted for the second reading by the Defense Committee of the State Duma, RBC noted.
Conscripts will be able to sign a contract for one year. After that, the department will be able to send them to war in Ukraine. According to the current regulations, citizens called up for military service can only conclude a contract after three months.
He will be able to conclude a contract with conscripts of the Ministry of National Defense during the period of mobilization, martial law, as well as in the event of armed conflicts, during anti-terrorist operations and the use of the army abroad. In Russia, the mobilization has been going on since September last year, the authorities have not canceled it.
On July 25, the State Duma simultaneously adopted several laws tightening the conditions of military service in Russia. MEPs adopted amendments to extend the conscription age in two simultaneous readings: the upper bar was raised from 27 to 30. At the same time, the lower limit of conscription was left unchanged, which was originally also to be increased by three years – 18 years.
At the same time, the State Duma amended the law on electronic order adopted in the spring. Under the bill, which passed its second reading on Tuesday, conscripts will be restricted to leaving almost immediately after being summoned. Similar changes were introduced in the Act “On the Exit and Entry Procedure”: from the moment the summons to the military draft office are entered in the register of submitted summons, trips abroad for conscripts are prohibited.
In addition, the deputies increased the fines for failure to appear on the agenda at the military registration and recruitment office 10 times: the maximum amount increased from 3 to 30 thousand rubles. At the same time, the State Duma introduced penalties for legal entities: 500,000 rubles for failure to assist military commissariats in the search for conscripts, 400,000 for failure to submit lists of citizens to the military commissariat for registration.
The State Duma also rejected a bill providing for a deferral for fathers of three children. Andrey Kartopolov, head of the Defense Committee of the State Duma, explained that the mobilization law was written with the idea of a “great war” and “general mobilization”. And now this great war smells. And we’re all still looking for who we can remove, who we can protect… Yes, after that there will be no one to protect! he said.
