Bank VTB-Belarus attracted a syndicated loan for 3 billion Russian rubles

Jan 16 (Reuters) – The Belarusian subsidiary of the Russian bank VTB has raised a six-month syndicated loan for 3 billion Russian rubles, the bank’s press office said.

The bank, which is one of the ten largest banks in Belarus, did not provide details about borrowers and lending conditions.

Belarus lost access to international lending markets after the EU and the US imposed several packages of sanctions against Belarusian banks and the country’s public debt in response to the actions of the authorities against the opposition.

Moscow continued to support its ally with cheap loans and energy resources. (Moscow Bureau)
