AvtoVAZ started production of Lada without airbags

AvtoVAZ resumed the production of Lada Granta Classic cars, removing from the configuration anti-lock braking system (ABS) and airbags. According to Autonews with reference to the company’s message, this version of the Lada Granta will become the most affordable new passenger car on the Russian market.

According to Autonews, a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with 90 horsepower and a manual transmission were installed on the new Lada. The source of the publication claims that the environmental class of the unit on the “simplified” model was lowered to the Euro-2 standard. The cost of the new configuration will be announced soon.

AvtoVAZ, which several times during the spring announced downtime in production, was forced to abandon the use of some imported components in cars.

However, the majority of Russians buy a car without pillows will not dare. According to a survey by the Drom website, 61% of users will refuse to buy a less secure car. Another 31% consider pillows a good option, but are willing to sacrifice them in a hopeless situation. A minority – 8% – do not need them.
