Application for gas transit from Russia to Europe through Ukraine

MOSCOW, Jan 15 (Reuters) – The request to pump Russian gas to Europe through Ukraine on January 15 is 35.4 million cubic meters per day through the Sudzha gas metering station with zero volume through the Sokhranovka GIS, according to Gazprom data.

A day earlier, the application for pumping gas through Ukraine was the same amount, with the maximum volume of the transit contract at 109 million cubic meters.

Since May 11, Ukraine has stopped receiving transit gas through the Sohranivka station, citing force majeure circumstances and proposing to transfer all transit volumes to Sudzha.

Pumping along the main route of Russian gas supplies to Europe – the Nord Stream pipeline – was completely stopped on September 2.

The transit of Russian gas through Poland to Germany via the Yamal-Europe pipeline, through which up to 15% of Gazprom’s export supplies to Europe and Turkey passed, was terminated after Russian retaliatory sanctions against the Polish owner of the gas pipeline. (Moscow Bureau)
