Almost 30 drones attacked Crimea

On the night of July 18, 28 drones immediately attacked the Russian-annexed Crimea. This was announced by the pro-Kremlin head of the region, Sergei Aksenov, and the Russian Defense Ministry.

According to the military department, 17 drones shot down the funds Air defenses installed on the peninsula. The remaining 11 were suppressed by electronic warfare. The Ministry of Defense said there were no casualties or damage as a result of the attack.

Aksenov also said that air defense systems destroyed only 9 drones, and 19 were suppressed by electronic warfare in eastern Crimea.

Authorities did not specify what objects the drones were targeting. At the same time, the Crimean Bridge is located in the east of the peninsula, which was attacked by ground drones the day before. Two explosions were registered under its car part. As a result, one span was destroyed, but the supports were not damaged. The explosion killed the couple, their daughter suffered moderate injuries.

The Russian authorities called the blowing up of the bridge a terrorist attack and blamed Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin promised to respond to the attack.

The participation of Ukraine in the explosion of the bridge was reported by RBC Ukraine and the BBC, citing sources in Ukrainian intelligence. Kyiv has not officially confirmed this information. The representative of the SBU Artem Dekhtyarenko promised to reveal the details of the organization of the outbreak after Ukraine’s victory in the war. “So far, we are watching with interest how one of the symbols of the Putin regime once again failed to withstand the military burden,” he said.
