AEB expects growth in car sales in Russia in 23y after a collapse in 22y

MOSCOW, Jan 12 (Reuters) –
The Association of European Businesses (AEB), which maintains sales statistics for new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia, expects sales growth of 12% in 2023 after the market shrank by almost 60% last year.
Car sales in Russia in 2022 fell by 58.8% to 687,370 units, the AEB said Thursday at its annual press conference.
In December, sales fell 50.2% to 64,072 units, the AEB said.
The AEB forecasts that sales will grow by 12% to 770,000 units in 2023. (Gleb Stolyarov. Edited by Anastasia Teterevleva)
