Duke Nukem: Cobra Kai replaces John Cena in the film that will (finally) hit the cinema

Video games have had a good reputation in Hollywood lately. Between the (small) success ofUnexplored that runs the risk of transforming Playstation into Marvel and sonic 2 which this year became the biggest success of a video game adaptation in American theaters, big studios have reason to be tempted to sand down game consoles back and forth in search of new concepts.

And for once, do not hesitate: The last of us, horizon zero dawn, God of War and many others are preparing to arrive either in series or in movies, in theaters or on Netflix, on Amazon or on HBO Max. A sacred movement will benefit from a cult license from the 90s to finally land in dark rooms after decades of failed projects: Duke Nuke.

In fact, the hollywood reporter announced that Duke Nuke if this time it landed in the cinema, thanks to the Legendary studio that entrusted the production to Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, the trio behind the phenomenon series cobra kai. Created in the early 90s, the saga Duke Nuke really earned his letters of nobility in 1996 by thoroughly revamping the FPS codes with his duke nukem 3d. The franchise then became a cult and has fantasized many craftsmen of the cinema who have managed to try in vain to adapt it to the cinema. The project that has come closest to the production box is undoubtedly Paramount’s, produced by Michael Bay and with John Cena in the lead role.
