World Cup 2022: €500,000 bonus for French squad players and key staff members

the essential
The Team informs us this Wednesday that the players of the French team who participated in the World Cup will receive 500,000 euros in bonuses thanks to an agreement signed between the players, staff members and the FFF to re-evaluate the related image rights bonuses.

A gold mine. Almost 500,000 euros. This is the amount that the players of the French football team and key staff members, such as coach Didier Deschamps, his assistant Guy Stéphan or goalkeeping coach Franck Raviot should receive. The rest of the French team’s staff such as physiotherapists, doctors or stewards do not benefit from these bonuses. But players donate part of their bonuses to them.

As surprising as it may seem, the sum the French squad’s players will receive is higher than they received after their world champion title in Russia, where they each received nearly €400,000. For what ? In the meantime, the Blues have negotiated a revaluation of their image rights with the French Football Federation.

Before the World Cup in Qatar, France’s players received €21,200 per game in compensation for advertising campaigns. A figure revalued at around 30,000 euros for this World Cup. Given that they played seven matches during the World Cup, they will therefore receive around €210,000 for image rights. This sum is in addition to the 30% of the allocation granted by FIFA to the participating teams.
