The SNCF justifies this price increase with an increase in its costs of more than 13% this year, mainly due to the increase in electricity prices. TGV fares had already increased by 5% in January. The SNCF also announced on Monday that it will sell 300,000 fixed-price TGV tickets at 29, 39 or 49 euros for the month of August. The offer of 200,000 Intercités tickets at €19 has also been extended until 31 August.
