Orange opens its 5G network in Marmande and Nérac

the essential
Orange activated this Tuesday 16 May its 5G network in Marmande and its agglomeration, as well as in Nérac.

Orange is therefore fulfilling its role as a leading operator by providing the best possible support for changes in French consumption patterns, enabling them to benefit from the best possible network quality, even in the densest areas. By contributing to the digitization of French businesses, 5G will also be a powerful lever for competitiveness thanks, among other things, to connected objects and artificial intelligence.

Offers compatible with 5G

5G, distributed on the 3.5 GHz frequency bands, allows real navigation comfort, reduced latency and almost instantaneous download speed, even on the move. With the launch of 5G in Marmande and Nérac, Orange is preparing for tomorrow’s uses with technology that will allow it to be at the forefront of digital technology.

Orange has chosen to roll out a 5G network mainly on the 3.5 GHz frequency band; which now makes it possible to consolidate the mobile network and maintain the quality of the 4G network, which is already in great demand. As of May 3, 2023, Orange’s 5G network covers 60% of the population of mainland France, or 2,500 open communes.

To benefit from 5G services, Orange offers more than thirty mobile references and three packages ranging from 120GB to 200GB compatible with 5G. There is no SIM card change. To make the most of Orange 5G by acquiring it responsibly, the operator has launched its “Re” program which is part of a circular economy approach allowing the recycling, recovery and refurbishment of old mobiles (store conditions).
