Condom: trade union on all fronts

The Union Consummons en Ténarèze (UCT), brought to the baptismal fronts last spring, immediately set to work. The association brings together three poles (Condom, Valence/Saint-Puy and Montreal/Fourcès) which share initiatives but also carry out initiatives on their own. While the membership campaign continues, the president of the UCT, Jean-François Sabathier, presents the main lines of the association’s calendar until autumn.

“This summer, in Condom, we will be present during the animation of the Tuesdays of the summer, July 25, with a presentation stand of our structure on which we will also highlight the articles of the Collective of creators. We will also be there the next day with the Play Box providing street entertainment in the morning and the Tourist Office organizing a costumed visit at 3pm. For our part, we propose, at 5.30 pm, an animation on fencing, its history, with a demonstration by a master at arms, before the theatrical evening under the cloister from 7.30 pm.

We will also participate in the initiative of the municipality and the interprofessional union for the Floc Festival, on 8 August. Finally, we promise ourselves in the context of the food truck evenings on Thursday evening 17 August, proposing a lottery with offers from local professionals, and taking care of musical entertainment”. On this aspect, events are also planned in September in the other two sectors, in Valence during the European Heritage Days, and as part of the Sunday meetings of the flea market in Fourcès.

Promotion of know-how

Facilitator agent and link between professionals, the UCT has successfully launched its first aperitif for entrepreneurs of the Château de Mons. “We have brought together a hundred participants for this evening, which allows professionals to cultivate their networks. With the Chamber of Crafts and Crafts, on 23 August at the Continental we are offering an evening dedicated to craftsmanship with around ten professionals who will come to present their craft and know-how to the public, who will be offered an exhibition-sale and tastings.

Autumn will also be busy with a partnership between Ténarèze and Lomagne during the Housing and Decoration Show, which will be held this year in Fleurance on October 7 and 8, before a 2024 edition hoped for in Condom.
