Condom: a new ambassador of local denominations
The Condoois la Tàula restaurant has just joined the Bons crus d’Artagnan club, a regional “Vineyards and discoveries” relay, which promotes the five local appellations and the assets of their terroir.
It is no coincidence that Elmodie Lanave, president of the departmental tourism committee (CDT) Destination Gers, chose Xavier Bilot’s table in Condom to take stock of the department’s wine tourism yesterday, in the company of professionals from the sector. La Tàula has just joined the appellations of the region, united under the banner of “Bons crus d’Artagnan”, itself labeled “Vineyards and discoveries” at the national level.
Isabelle Cadouat, who manages the Bons crus network, also noted that the two labels were born a few months apart, illustrating the importance of associating local appellations with other regional resources. The Gers, and the other departments with these appellations, thus highlight Armagnac, Côtes de Gascogne, floc, Madiran, Pacherenc du Vic Bihl and Saiont-Mont. In the areas dedicated to these denominations, the ambassadors of the Bons crus offer visitors walks in the vineyard, visits to the cellars, tastings in the cellar, but also overnight stays and tables where the label guarantees the quality of the welcome.
Fascinating weekend
Around the CDT 32, bearer of the label, the Interprofessional Office of Armagnac (BNIA) provides technical support, with the regional tourism committee of Occitanie as the tourist contact person. Strengthened by a common specification, the 180 certified service providers to date make it possible to offer tourist stays that also include cultural and festive events. A showcase that CDT 32 is keen to revive even when it echoes, in autumn, the national initiative of the Charming Weekend which, in the various vineyards of France, invites you to share sporting, cultural and festive events in the heart of the vineyards. Broadcast in the Gers for three years, this event should continue its realization during the 2023 edition which will be held from 19 to 22 October. The opportunity also for the local public to (re)discover the nuggets that lurk in the surrounding countryside.
