Business meetings at Toulouse-Blagnac airport

the essential
On 24 May, sixteen companies will participate in a business meeting organized on site by Toulouse-Blagnac airport. In total, around 170 positions are to be filled in various sectors.

These are restaurants, car rental agencies, accessory shops or even hotels.

At Toulouse airport, many companies are in constant need of staff. Sixteen of them therefore decided to participate in a business appointment, organized by Aéroport Toulouse-Blagnac in collaboration with Pôle emploi.

A total of 170 positions will be offered, with CDD, CDI, seasonal, work-study, temporary contracts but also internships. “It is quite diverse,” adds Stéphan Laporte, dedicated business consultant at the Pôle emploi agency in Blagnac. The sample of positions ranges from customer advisor to marketing assistant, airport groundhandling agent, ticketing agent, versatile restaurant clerk or assistant accountant”.

As for the prerequisites, they obviously vary according to the professions but “there is not necessarily the need for experience or a diploma”, assures Stéphan Laporte. Recruiters foster motivation and availability. “We often work early in the morning or late in the evening, potentially every day. It is therefore necessary to also have a means of transport”.

Direct exchanges

This is the first time the airport has hosted such a business meeting. “The aim is for interested people to feel directly involved by going to their workplace, explains Stéphan Laporte. This allows them to absorb the atmosphere but also to measure distance and travel time.”

And the restaurant mobilized to host the event, Le Panorama, has a view of the slopes that doesn’t spoil anything. It is in this unusual environment that candidates will be able to exchange directly for five to ten minutes with employers and, perhaps, establish contact to be called back later.

As Stéphan Laporte reminds us, “it is this format that allows you to attract more profiles and lead to more hires”. Visitors are encouraged to come with CVs and a small idea for interviews.
