An electric transformer located on Place Sainte-Claire in Castres was damaged during the night between Monday 13 March and Tuesday 14 March due to thunderstorms. Pending a return to normality, the CGR Lido cinema had to cancel two screenings and some merchants had to temporarily close their businesses.

“After last night’s thunderstorms, we have no more electricity. The outage should be resolved for the 6pm sessions. Thank you for your understanding.” This is the message published by the management of the CGR Lido di Castres cinema, on its doors, this Tuesday 14 March.

Pending a return to normality, the Castres cinema had to cancel two sessions.

Indeed, on the night of March 13 to 14, an accident occurred in one of the city’s electrical transformers located on Place Sainte-Claire, just behind the cinema. Some merchants on rue Villegoudou and place Roger Salengro would also have been affected by this power outage, in particular the Le Venise restaurant, which was unable to provide lunch service.

Enedis technicians are currently repairing the damaged systems, for a return to normality expected at the end of the day. Meanwhile, the cinema had to cancel two sessions.
